Digital Editor

Mandarin Quarterly is looking for a full time digital editor who has journalistic background and understands how various English and Chinese digital platforms function. The individual must be willing to work promptly during day and some evening hours shall there be any immediate inputs from other departments. The appropriate candidate is someone who dials into mainstream media on a daily basis, is eager to learn news and trends, and has the ability to execute deadlines.


-Edit and produce content for Mandarin Quarterly website, weibo, wechat and newsletter for 3 cities in Chinese language (simplified Chinese).

-Manage contributors to maintain a publishing cycle for all digital platforms.

-Oversee layout and graphic design for digital content.

-Work with digital manager to strategize on growing digital followers across all digital platforms

-Work with audience development on promoting clients’ events and business


Fluent in Chinese and English.

Journalism and communications major preferred

Capable working M-F 9am-6pm and possibly some overtime  

Pro-active and self starter

Direct & manage sales and business development initiatives

Communicate daily with other BD teams in Chicago, San Francisco and NY

Send weekly sales and marketing reports & updates to the Publisher

Proven track record of marketing & sales, specifically for print, digital, research, events & consultancy capabilities for upscale brands

Have established relationships with decision makers at upscale brands

Call meetings & agendas daily, weekly & monthly with the appropriate teams

Work closely with Client Management teams to make sure clients needs are being met

Knowledgeable with Google platform for data, email and document management

Be able to act as a Consultant for our clients. We aren't just about selling 'ads,' but being able to offer a full package marketing solution to our clients for their needs.
